Hi everyone, quick question about 3d invig. I’ve been doing all the tutes on the plug here at the cow and also tried several by ayato…

now, i wonder… if I’d like a 3d logo to slide in over a wall in z-pace and I’ve got use comp cam and comp lights ticked in 3d invig, is there anyway i can get the logo to cast shadows on the wall?

i’ve tried to force the 3d invig layer into a 3d layer, which it’s not meant to be, obviously, and it kind of works, though it’s tricky getting the shadow looking normal. one doesn’t get a lot of slack to move the camera around…

is there another way of fooling it, or is ther just a simpler way of sorting it out that i’ve missed altogether?

    thanks for any advice!
    🙂

Try to import on a new layer in the same comp only the mask of the text or shape you created in Illustrator > Put it in time-line @ same position of your Invig. layer > Make it 3D > Check cast shadows + Eventually make the mask parent of the Invig layer if you need to move the Invig. Normally it works. (In some cases you need to render apart only the shadow & to recomp
the shadow with the rest of your clip)

You could make your wall in Invigerator.

Don’t worry mate, all of us have done at least one big goof with this stuff. One just loses control in the fog of the moment.
