I am trying to build a cardboard box in AE that I can cam around and also open and close the top of. I created my layers in PS (top left & right, bottom, and 4 sides). I have imported them into AE and when I start to maneuver them in 3D space they do not appear correctly. Whichever layer is on top in the timeline shows up completely no matter what the camera angle. I have the 3D switched on for all of them. I thought they would behave more, well, three dimensionally. Any idea how to fix this? Am I overlooking something stupid?

Does the camera layer cover the whole timel line? Alt Home, move the camera inpoint to time zero.

Yes the camera does cover the whole timeline. Currently I am trying to “build” the box at zero seconds and zero frames. I have moved the camera all around the composition and manipulated multiple layers.

Hmmm, sounds wonky. Do you have the box in a precomp, then not have the Collapse Transformation/Continuously Raster Button clicked on(looks like a little sun, next to shy-guy). That would cause that.

The PSd I was using was full of smart objects. I created a new PSD from the build file and rasterized everything. Seems to have fixed the problem.

Kind of similar to the collapse transformations fix but the transformations were in the PSD layers.

Thanks for the input. Hope this helps someone else.
