    Hey Folks,

Are any of you able to play 3840×2160 @ 23.98 FPS ProRes HQ in realtime? No nodes, just playback. We have 2013 Mac Cans, 32GB RAM, 12-core, dual D700’s w/ BMD UltraStudio 4K Extreme TB, 8G Fibre Channel. Storage is a Stornext SAN that has no problem playing back 16-bit TIFF and DPX @ 3840×2160 30FPS from a ColorFront Transkoder on Win7.

The data rate on the PRHQ is around 700-800 mbps (mega bits that is), so not that bad.

    thanks!

Yes, i can do that. But I’m running a Hackintosh that I built specifically for this purpose. 32GB RAM, GTX 980 GPU with 4GB RAM, media on Thuderbay 4 via thunderbolt. Resolve relies a lot on GPU, and I know that there were issues with some D700s… did you find out if yours were clear of that?

Did you try to contact BMD?
I had problems last year with 4K in Resolve on a MacPro can and they helped me out with settings and it is running 4K fine since.

Yes, no issues with 4K source files (including 444 and R3D), though I’m monitoring in HD.
