Is 64 bit Vista faster for rendering than 32 bit and by what percentage? Any other advantages in the 64 bit version?

The only advantage currently is that it offers more RAM for you to utilize in Vegas. Other than that nothing, plus it is not currently supported by Sony for Vegas.

Now, when the 64 bit version of Vegas is released publicly you will see a vast improvement in render time and utilization of at least 8 render threads.

if I was going to buy Vista, there’s no way I’d buy the 32bit version. What benefit is there really, over XP? 64 bit is the way to go.

FWIW, my vista64 is running vegas 8 perfectly. And 2 versions of Office side by side. And COD4 etc etc.

32-bit Vegas runs on 64-bit XP or Vista but it’s not built for it and SCS won’t answer support questions.

As far as any claims of speed with a 64-bit version of Vegas, just wait and see. Maybe yes, maybe no, but don’t make money decisions on it until you can actually try it.

Yes, it will be able to use more memory, and that should help a lot of people.
