30p vs 60i for Broadcast news segment
Hi Everyone,
I’m shooting a series of short inserts for broadcast news and I’m wondering if 60i is preferable to 30p for any reason at all. Or what the advantages of each would be.
I’ve already shot the first one at 30p and I just like the way it looks better and I can’t imagine the conversion process to 29.97 being very difficult or it clashing too much with the rest of the show. Did I make a huge mistake I guess is my question. I’m a broadcast novice obviously.
I normally shoot everything at 24p, even my spots for broadcast (not news inserts)… so needless to say this is a new thing for me and I’d like to correct my mistake (if there is one) before shooting the next one… which is tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

I lean towards P. I shoot stuff with lots movement, and seem to have occasional issues with i, so thats my vote!

30p is fine and you’l have no issues with broadcasting it.
30p… the new 24p!
