    Hello everyone.
After downloading and installing the new update, I am trying to load in a dv avi file to use.
What I get is this message,
“The framerate of this movie is 29.97, not 30.00… but will still be used”
then it asks to change the stage size. I say yes or no and it crashes the program.
Any clues what happened. I thought dv was exceptable with this update?

Thank you for the great service here guys!
    I mean that!

    Any takers on this?
Did I miss something? Should I be rendering out my dv avi from Vegas to an uncompressed avi to use in PI?

    David,

Can you play the file with Windows Media Player? If not it is possible you don’t have the codec required to decode the file.

    Hello John.
This is a dv avi straight off the tape.
It plays in everything just fine.
I read the post below where the gentleman was rendering out of vegas as an uncompressed avi to PI. I tried this and it works. Is this the practice?
I thought you could just take a dv avi and drop in PI.
    Confused.

    David,

Well you should be able to read any dv avi in pI if you have a codec that supports that format. It would appear you have a codec that supports that format because it plays in other programs.

If possible can find out what codec compressed the file?

So I guess if the work arround works use it but it isn’t the way it is supposed to work.

    David,

Unfortunately that doesn’t help me. Could you please open the file in Windows Media Player and do a file properties and it should show the Video codec.

Maybe Elvis or one of the other Vegas guys can help?

    Hello John.
It states DV Video Decoder as the codec.

Does the DV clip contain audio? If so, try importing the clip without audio, and see if that loads in 3.0.2.

    Hello Alan.
    Nope still crashes PI.
Starts by first saying the size is 29.92 not 30 again. Than asks to resize stage, I say yes it crashes.
