    O..K..

Try rendering out just the SOME of the Credit Roll, say 10 seconds, to something like a UNCOMPRESSED AVi – big file! – bring that back into VP and render THAT to MPG2. See what you get.

    Graham,
    Thanks for the suggestion.
I’m hoping there is some simple setting I’m missing to make the credit roll clear?

Your suggestion is good but will entail another test render. Due to the length of the video, I can not afford many test renders as they each take hours.

If the unclear credit roll is to be expected when rendering at around 4000 CBR or 4000 avg VBR, then I’ll gladly see the end of it by following the AVI solution double render solution.

However, if this shouldn’t be happening and all I have to do is “check this deflicker box here” or some other key I’m missing… i’d love to hear this 🙂

    Cheers,

    Gilles

Just do the 10 second test and you’ll have a clue.

Whether you do or you don’t is up to you – of course. It is how I learnt.

Gilles, if you’re using the Credit Roll in Vegas, to put it bluntly it sucks 🙁
Grazie and I replied about this with some options that may be f some help in a previous thread on here.
Titles on Credit Roll washed out and funky

    Thanks to you both.
I just read the posts referenced. very good.

To clarify, I’m using the ProType Titler and animating it with keyframes within it… not using the Sony Credit roll.

From what I gather, you’re saying this is also a bad thing.

From my understanding, using the “legacy tex” media generator and keyfrae it via pan/crop? (like in your veg sample Mike?)

Gilles, I’ve never used the ProType Titler so I can’t comment on it’s quality.
What I can say is that high quality text has never been an issue with the Vegas developers. I had a 3rd party titler back in my Amiga days and it was far better than anything currently available for Vegas 🙁
The following is a very old article but the underlying principles still apply.
Great Titles with the DV Codec

    Thanks again Mike and Graham,
I’m trying to render to avi right now. I’ll report back.

OK.. I just did an AVI, 16seconds, 60mb file. Poor quality
I’ve attached a screenshot of what it looks like.

What are your Project Settings? And what are the properties of the Text Event?

You’re going to need to go slowly through each step of the way in getting those results; say what you are viewing and on what.

I’ve prepared a WMV for you to view.

    Cheers
