I’ve had NO problems capturing with my 2K. But, I haven’t done so for a few months.

The problem is, if I feed it SD-SDI the capture shows a “glitch” every few seconds. Kinda of looks like it looses sync or something.

Feeding my XP-based system from a SONY HDV deck. Component out to a MOTU V4HD for conversion to SDI.

If I play HDV material, rock solid.

But, switching to SD…and the glitch is hard to miss.

I had 4.2.1 installed, and backed down several steps to 4.1.4 with NO change.

Yet, I have my other computer (similar, with an LS card for SD only) connected at the same time from the same source and NO GLITCH.

Can’t EVEN imagine where to start looking for the issue.

Maybe it IS sync? Did you check the AJA control panel for capture, to see what the board sync is set to? Double-check frame rates, too.
I like to confirm by making sure the same settings show up in Machina.

The other thing I would consider is checking for a bad cable or connector– it happens.

    Thanks for the response.

    I suspect it’s the MOTU.

If I take the same output of the SD component signal and convert it to SDI in another unit, the 2K is fine.

If I send HD through the MOTU, fine.

But SD? MOTU’S signal is FINE for my LS system but not for the 2K.

    Yes, cables have been checked.

The good thing is a have a workaround to get an SD job done.

The bad thing is it seems MOTU isn’t working right. And I’ve dealt with MOTU before. There’s only so much they know of video.
