29.97 to 23.98P conversion in FCP X
Hello,
I’m working on an edit at the moment where the footage provided is 29.97 animation clips, but for delivery they want it as 23.98P is this possible? And what can be the complications for this? I’m new to these frame rates as I’m used to 25!
Any help would be great.

Penny,
There can be many issues with this as the conversion from 29.97 to 23.98 is not recommended. With that conversion process, you are essentially removing a frame to have your video look like it was 23.98 fps. You can create a custom project to edit in the necessary frame rates; however, converting the frames that you need to may cause interlacing or playback issues on the final product. What is your final deliverable supposed to be?

They want the final as a digital master 1080p 23.98fps 4:4:4, so I was going to use the Apple Pro Res export. But from the sounds of it I need to talk to the animators about this!
