    Hello,
I have a problem with my new 23.98 timeline that I created after converting all my footage to 23.98 from 29.97. Let me explain: I shot the movie on film and telecine it onto DVCAM. I edited the movie on a 29.97 frame rate (yes, I did not do the pulldown like I was suppose to do in the beginning). I converted all my files to 23.98 through cinema tools and copied my timeline to a 23.98 timeline, though, now I have missed frames (black holes in the timeline) my effects such as speed and reversed footage came in as the wrong footage and I actually have frames that are completely gone. I’m checking everything against my old 29.97 timeline.

Is there a different way to convert all my media so I won’t have these problems? If not how can I import the media to a 23.98 timeline differently? Is there a way to just take the 29.97 frames EDLs and convert them to 23.98 EDLs? Please help and thank you in advance.

You can create a cutlist from a 29.97 edit in Cinema Tools, by exporting an EDL fromt the 29.97 timeline.

The cutlist will be accurate to + or – one frame with this method, due to the telecine process creating video frames which share information from 2 different film frames.

Check in the Cinema Tools Manual under “Working with External EDLs”

You still must have your Cinema Tools database set up properly and the clips connected correctly.

Also, you can export a 29.97 EDL and convert it to 23.98 EDL with Cinema Tools (though I’m not sure this will help your situation).
