We are looking to replace and old Sony PVM-20M2MDU CTR monitor we have and my boss is looking for inexpensive.

Some one suggested a 26″ Marshall.
I’ve never heard of them, does anyone know anything about them and if they are a good broadcast monitor.

This for an edit suite, just to clarify.
From what I found out about them from their web site, they seem more like a studio/control room monitor.

    Thanks for the help.

A lot of people here, including myself, recommend the Flanders Scientific monitors. 2706 or 2406 models…depending on budget. They are an advertiser here too.

    HP Dreamcolor and AJA HDP2.

“Low” cost, great monitor, true 10bit.

Have heard zero good things about them if you need color critical viewing. Cheap monitors and they look cheap. I have never seen one in person as I ruled them out pretty quickly.

FSI 1760W is the cheapest best quality monitor on the market. 2450 and 2470 are even better.

Can’t recommend them enough. 30 day money back guarantee too. Good luck getting that with any other manufacturer.

Second Shane and Walter’s suggestion for FSI
we have 3 2450W’s here. We use them day in day out, cutting, grading.
One thing a lot of LCD and Plasmas won’t do is show both fields while you’re parked on a frame. The FSI’s will. their interlace algorithm is superb along with everything else about them.

I’ve used a ton of Marshalls as well as many other brands.

What is it you’re needing this to do. If all you need is to confirm the presence of a video signal, the Marshall will suffice. Beyond that, there are most assuredly better displays.
