25p to 24p
Hi everyone, I am a bit of a novice so I would really appreciate some help.
I have some footage from the Canon c100 shot at PF25. I can’t record with the 24p version because it’s for 59.94hz only and I’m in the UK.
I want to achieve a 24p “film look”, is it as simple as telling premiere to interperate it as 24p? It’s a tricky one for me, because my audio will all lose sync if I do this, and I’m sure it’s going to be a nasty workflow if I have to do this often.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I agree…you’ll get that film look shooting 25p…it’ll look like 24p..

I agree with the other replies. 25fps is close enough to 24fps, will look more like a ‘film look’ than ‘messed up jumpy skipping a frame every second look’ or ‘weird frame blending look’ which you will get if you try to convert 🙂

Converting is going to be a big pita. Stick to 25p.

I totally agree with the others, BUT, if you have to go to 29.97, the trick is to slow down your 25P master to 23.976, then add NORMAL pulldown to go to 29.97i. (And do a pitch correction.)
This way no frames are lost, and the result is good (All movies on TV are shown in Europe speeded up, so they are shorter than in the theatre.)
Don’t let the term ‘advanced pulldown’ fool you, that is easier to remove, but looks worse and is obsolete now.
Do note that your new master will be longer, so if you have a time restriction, do the math before you start.Bouke
