    Hi everyone

I recently started a project in FCPX using 550d/T2i files (1080 25p) as well Sony EX3 and a live feed Apple Mpeg 4 audio file recorded in quicktime 276bitrate AAC

I loaded all this all into the project I believe the set the settings at the time to 1080P 25 but am not 100% certain of this. As I come to export I realised I was editing in 720p 60p I exited back to the project selector and went into project properties and switched the resolution to 1080p but there is no option for a frame rate other than 60p! not even at the other resolutions eg. 720, 2/4k etc. I have tried restarting the program but am not sure what has happened. I have edited other projects using a comnbination of 550d and EX3 before and have never run into this which leads me to believe it maybe the MP4 AAC audio? This was also the first bit of media I entered onto the timeline (i think)

Does anyone have any suggestions on this?

Oh sure, just create a new project with the desired size and frame rate. “Select all”, on your old timeline, and “paste” it into your new project.

FCP X doesn’t let you alter the frame rate of a timeline unless it is empty (this make sense sorta.)

Alternative if you are feeling daring, you can” select all” on your timeline, then choose “cut”. Alter that timelines frame rate then “paste”.

I’ve noticed that if I start by placing audio in a project before I put in any video, it wants to give the project video settings, and usually not the ones I want.

When I start with a fresh timeline, I’ll place any bit of footage in the empty timeline that has the settings I want for the timeline. This will “Set” the settings. Once I start editing, I can easily go back and delete the clip.

As for selecting all of your footage and “cutting”, I don’t have the balls to do that. I’d be too afraid of getting a beachball and having to force the app down, and losing all of my work.

I always create and open a new project, then you can use the arrows in the upper left portion of the timeline window to switch between your new project and the one you’re trying to fix. Select all, copy, switch to the new one and paste.

    Good luck.
