  24psf output

  When we edit SD-PAL film originated material on a 24@25 timeline, running at 24 fps, we have this ’24+1′ stutter that most film editors have gotten used to. It shows up in playback once per sec.

  One workaround we’ve arrived at is to set the View>External video setting to 1080p24. This effectively up converts the SD to HD and maintains 24 fps but as 24p.

  This works fine for most projectors, and newer LCD or LED TV sets.

  But some older TV sets particulary plasmas do not support 24p. For those, 24psf would possibly work. Is there some way this is available in Blackmagic cards? Like the Extreme HD3D for instance?

  As a temporary workaround we’ve found that setting View>External video to 720p59.94 seems to deliver a smooth picture from a 24fps DV PAL timeline (Blackmagic DV-PAL 24@25)
