I am working on a final project for class and I have filmed footage using the Panasonic DVX100A in 24Pa mode to get that film look.

I am suffering from major pulldown issues and I have read up and seem to be doing everything right in after effects to interpret the footage but I just can’t seem to fix the problem. Any pointers?

it would help to know what exactly are the problems you are seeing, but i’ll troubleshoot a common problem with 24p…

when you capture 24p or 24pa in an nle, you should follow the setup described for your nle (there should be a 24p workflow in the manual). also, unlike 60i or 30p, you will not be able to capture several shots in one capture. you will need to capture each shot individually, or you will not be able to remove the pulldown…. this is a common problem with 24p projects.

another is editing the footage together prior to removing the pulldown, then taking that into ae…you’ll end up with the same problem as capturing several shots as one clip, the pulldown cadence will change from shot to shot and you will not be able to remove the pulldown without splitting each shot up at the edits and treating them as individual clips.
