  • 24p to 30p…is there a clean way to do this?

    Hi,

I am currently working on a project that was shot in 24p & 30p. We would like to be able to edit all the clips in a “native” environment of HDV, but I am unsure of a good way to get the clips into a copasetic workspace. I know there are a few different options as far as transcoding, but what seems to be the best in your regards.

    Thank you for your time,

    Keresey

Thanks for the reply. So what you are saying is the 24p setting is not really 24p? And when editing the 30p setting is fine?

Alright…thanks for the website. I will check it out.

    Here’s the lowdown:
The film was shot with a Panasonic 100A and a JCV GY100. Some of the footage is in 24p, some is in 30p. I was hired as an editor and they have asked me to convert/transcode the 24p/30p footage so that it can be used in the same timeline. Are you following so far?

The problem is: they want to be able to cut the two frame rates in one timeline and not have render the footage everytime.

This is the question I am posing: Is there a clean and easy way to convert/transcode the footage from both of these cameras, with diff. frame rates, into one harmonious sequence?
