[carmen emarda] “I wish to create 24P DVD movie from 60i HDV.”

There are several ways to approach this. The easiest is to keep your project at “HDV 1080-60i (1440×1080, 29.970 fps)”, do all of your editing and then render your video to MainConcept MPEG2 with the DVD Architect 24p NTSC Widescreen video stream template and your audio to Dolby Digital AC-3 Pro using the Stereo DVD template. This will give you a 24p video suitable for DVD.

Alternately, you could set your project to “NTSC DV 24p Widescreen (720×480, 23.976 fps)” before editing. This has the added advantage that all of your transitions will be in 24p. Also any generated media will be in 24p.

If you think you will ever need a 24p HD version, then keeping the project HD is the best approach. Otherwise it’s fine to edit in SD.

Thank U John, and sorry my late reply.

It is very clear now and thks again about DVD Ach.

    so,

    >>>
Alternately, you could set your project to “NTSC DV 24p Widescreen (720×480, 23.976 fps)”

In this case and just render to AVI for edit-checking,

    Which one should I select?

    1. “DV Widescreen 24P” or
    2. “DV Widescreen 24P 3:2 Pulldown”

Vegas shows the mark “*” to Pulldown rendering so
    I normally choose it.

But When I play the AVI deta in WMedia Player, it shows
    29.97 not 23.97 for framerate.

Do I make any mistakes in the setting ??

No, not to render to AVI. I was talking about your project settings. I wouldn’t change the render settings from what I recommended. You project can be either HDV or NTSC Widescreen.

No, that’s what 3:2 pulldown is. It creates 29.97 out of 24p so that a standard NTSC TV can play it. NTSC TV’s only play at 29.97fps.
