24p Interlace Problem
Before I start, I just want to let everyone know that I have read through many threads and tried many things to make this work.
My DP shot something for me on MiniDV in 24pN on his DVX100. I can watch it on my TV via my MiniDV cam and the footage looks like beautiful 24p should. I have captured it as regular DVNTSC, and notice a small amount of interlacing right around the clothing lines but nowhere else really. I guess the picture looks a little “dull” as well.
I then tried it with pulldown removed and also as 24 fps instead of 29.97. I have also tweaked my sequence settings to be 24fps, the regular DVNTSC setting as well as other – field dominance none and lower. All settings are giving me interlacing, but the one that gives me the least is the standard DVNTSC sequence and capture. But I cannot for the life of me get those lines to go away. Could it be just my laptop screen? I have to get this project done and am at my wits end.
Thank you so much for any other setting ideas you may have.
