I am capturing problem tapes in analog with a AJA card from a JVC Deck, the footage is HDV 720p 24-fps. This lame deck only output 60-fps out the analog outputs. this is now coming into FCP with huge file sizes as it has so many duplicated frames. Anyone know how to get this back to 24p? I do not think it is a typical pull down as there are all progresive frames.

    Thanks, Mark

It is a typical 3:2 pulldown, it just works in frames, not fields. It’s 3 duplicate frames and then 2 duplicate frames.

Not sure if it’ll work, but try Cinema Tools.
