24F and the Avid
I posted this in the Avid forums as well, but haven’t gotten a response yet. Thought I’d take this to you guys who use Canon and Avid…
The problem: The latest release of Media Composer does not support capture of Canon’s 24F mode (as found on the XH series camcorders).
The question: Has anyone else run into this? Has any of Avid’s recent patches provided support for this? Or is there a codec or something I can download for this?
Right now, my only option seems to entail capturing in Premiere Pro and importing the AVI’s or QT’s into AVID. But who wants to do all that extra work when they’d rather log and capture in Avid in one go? Anyone have input on this subject? Thanks!
