23.98 sequence…working with multiple slo-mo frame rates
I’m trying to fully transition over to Avid these days. I just started up a project I want to cut in 23.98 but I have multiple slomo frame rates and formats.
I know that I can open each clip in a project of it’s native frame rate then bring it in to the master 23.98 project. I know I can then timewarp those clips to 100 percent to get the desired slomo. What is annoying is the clip is now shorter in duration than the source clip. Very clunky.
I like my clips to already be slomo when I import. My way to achieve this has been to conform the clips in Cinema Tools and then import.
Is this Cinema Tools method the best way to handle this? (OSX 9.2, MC 7)

If you have Cinema Tools, then yes. Its the simplest and fastest way, in my opinion.
If you don’t, there is a method using the console in Avid that can work, also.
You need to remove the audio tracks first, if the file has any.
