I’m working in a 23.98 4:4:4 HDSRW project on FCP 4.5 using the Blackmagic Decklink Pro as capture board/codec system.

I’ve needed to do some compositing in Avid DS Nitris, so I render and output as Blackmagic 10 bit RGB and import into FCP. After exprot, the clip shows 23.98 fps when looking at movie info in Quicktime, but after import to FCP, it shows as 29.97 fps.

Also, when I load the clip into the viewer, there are a number of black frames at the end of the clip, which indicates to me that the duration of the clip is calculated in 29.97 timebase, while the media shows up in a 23.98 timebase.

When I overwrite the clip into the timeline, all the frames show at the proper rate, except the last one, which doesn’t show at all.

    Ideas, comments, questions…..
