23.976p prores video to 29.97p prores with no duplicate frames possible?
Is it possible to convert 23.976p prores video to 29.97p prores video with no duplicate 4th and 5th frames? I’ve tried using FCP 7, Compressor, and JES to do this, but I keep outputing files with duplicate 4th and 5th frames. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

how do you except to do from 24 to 30 frames over the same amount of time and not duplicate frames (or fields)? 24frames played at 30 with no duplication would be sped up 125%.

You can go from 23.976p to 29.97p with no duplicate frames, but at the cost of resolution. You can add pulldown which will convert from 23.976p to 29.97i. You can then add a deinterlace filter (frame blend) to get to 29.97p. I personally think frame duplication looks better, but using the correct deinterlacing filters will give you the smoother motion I believe you are looking for.
