    OK. Here’s an update from last year’s post.

    Please give your recommendation for working with say, an DSLR.MOV clip.
    Does it pretty much apply that the least compressed codec results in faster export/encoding?

    The least-compressed codec requires less CPU resources to decode, but it will require more disk bandwidth.

    In general, I think that transcoding DSLR footage to a lightly-compressed format like CineForm, DNxHD or ProRes is a fine practice.

    Cineform is the best option. Pro Res and DNxHD would be the next with DNxHD better on Windows now with CC.
