2 x 22″ vs 24″ LCD
Posted by Dror Levi on April 26, 2008 at 2:16 pmI am currently using 17” CRT monitor and thinking of changing to LCD monitor. I really liked the 24” LCD real-estate but as well attempt to buy 2 x 22”
I have never edited on a dual monitor and for some reason I am afraid it will be annoying some what, but still not sure where to with it. Any suggestions will be appreciated.John Magee replied 18 years ago 4 Members · 5 Replies -

April 26, 2008 at 3:53 pmI have run dual monitors for a couple of years. Started with dual 19″ now I have dual 24″ monitors. One monitor drives me crazy. So go figure.

April 26, 2008 at 5:18 pmI recently started using dual monitors. Nice. much less moving the dockable windows around, resizing, etc. I think you’ll get used to it pretty quickly.
I have a 22″ widescreen and a 19″ regular next to each other, and they happen to be the same height. Although most folks seem to go for 24″, for me, it felt a little too big – I think my eyes are more comfortable not having to move up and down quite so much. So 2×22″ sounds like a nice set-up to me.

April 27, 2008 at 6:20 pmI have my 22″ on the left and the 19″ on the right. The main application window is on the left, with the timeline along the bottom (the default set-up), the project media upper left, the trimmer to the right of that, and video fx often is to the right of that. I put the preview window on the right-hand monitor, along with the as-needed functions of audio levels, scopes, sometimes pro-titler.
I’m still learning what works best and it varies sometimes from project to project, or even from the beginning to the end of a project.
