  • 2 pillows colliding – collider tag problem

    Hi,

I am having a problem making the 2 pillows in the attached scene collide. I have a collider tag on the floor and both pillows collide with that no problem.

The collider tag on the bottom pillow does not seem to do anything though?

I eventually want to have 4 or 5 pillows resting on top of one another.

What am I doing wrong? Any help really appreciated.

I didn’t quite get the effect that you wanted but it is a start that might help on later? Maybe?

What I did was took both your pillows and connected them. then added the cloth tag and set it to self-collision under expert setting.

It worked for a while. but once both pillows settled down they still went into each other.

Like I said, it might be a start that leads to something else?

Here is my version of your file. I hope you come up with an answer. I just know that I’m going to have to be using this technique pretty soon.

Thanks for the good attempt John. Definately something to work with. It looked so promising and then it just collided at the end.

    I will keep trying!!!!

One way I have tried that does a similar effect but isn’t ideal is:

    1. Make 2 pillows.

    2. right click and chose “current state to object” on the pillows.

    3. Then apply an FFD deformer to squash the pillows.

    Cheers,

    Rich
