not only do you have 2 different frames rates, you have 2 frame rates that do not jive with broadcast standards… i think i’d ask to get a single file sent, with video and audio together.
if that’s not possible, the first thing i’d do is go through the 30 fps footage frame by frame and see if it has a pulldown pattern… look for and alternating pattern of progressive frames and interlaced frames in a ration of 3 progressive to 2 interlaced frames. if you find that, then you should be able remove the pulldown to bring it back to 23.976 fps. to do that, select the 30 fps footage in the ae project window then choose file>interpret footage>main… set the frame rate to 29.97 fps, then click the guess 3:2 pulldown button. you’ll then need drag the footage onto the make comp icon and step through it to make sure the pulldown has been properly removed.
if that works, then i’d conform the 23.98 footage to 23.976 fps using the interpret footage settings, now you can put the 2 together in the same comp.
actually, you may also be able to simply conform the frame rate of the 30 fps footage to 29.97, conform the 23.98 footage to 23.976 fps, then drag them both onto the new comp icon, choose to use specs from the 30 fps (now 29.97) footage and see if the audio times up….
