Hi all, this is my first time running two monitors. I have set the FSP on the monitor on the left side. Everything is fine except when I adjust the look of what I want. If I stretch the timeline or source/record windows on my monitor on the right it snaps back to the middle of both screens or all the way to the monitor on the left. I have manage to position the timeline and source/record monitor how I want it but if I do a small tweak the problem starts again. I looked at the help info but it really didn’t say anything. Any thoughts.

Ok forgot to tell you I am on a PC. Now I am not sure if this is the reason or not but I fiqured out that having the edges of each window touching managed to keep the windows in place. So for now it seems fine.

But when I try to go into effect mode, color correction or any other toolset it starts over again. Everything shifts to the left. Still working it out. I will double check the help again and make sure I am not missing anything.

That’s probably because you have to save your current workspace once having aligned all windows as you like them.

If you select the “Source/Record” toolset under the toolset menu what happens? If it fills one monitor, then adjust it to where you want and then select “save current”under the same menu and now each time you select that toolset you will have the same layout. You can expand upon this by using “workspaces” which I suggest you look up in the help menu and start suing religiously.

Once you do that, you will find that with one customized keystroke, you will be ably to have the perfect layout for whatever you are trying to do.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Well I did save current when I set things up for source/record view. When I went into color correction and went back it was off again. The save didn’t take. I researched futher on Avid forum and found someone else had the same issue. They got it to work by assaigning the left monitor as the primary monitor. I did this and it worked. I was able to arrange everything without the windows snapping back to the left monitor. I saved current and everything is stable.

    thanks
