    Hello Folks,

    First time poster but got loads of helpful stuff off of here before so hope you can help.

    Shot with my EX3 Camera today onto two 32G SD cards (using converters).
    Strangest thing happens with Avid Media Composer (V5)

    Footage on one card AMA’s no problem both directly from the card or from the media transferred on the PC’s hard drive.

    Footage on the other card will not link either way nor would it drag and drop into a bin or import (Volume or file). Had to transcode with Sony clip browser for today but would obvs like to avoid in the future.

    Here is what the console said on the successful and then 3 different failed AMA attempts.

    MVP Used:[ Plugin Name = MVP_SonyXDCAMEX Sony Corporation Version = 1.4000 ]
    MSP Used:[ Plugin Name = MSP_SonyXDCAMEXMP4 Sony Corporation Version = 1.4000 ]
    AMA link to volume D:CH1 Rushes was successful.

    [ Plugin Name = MSP_MXF Plug-In Avid Technology, Inc. Version = 1.4 ] does not support

    [ Plugin Name = SonyXDCAM Sony Corporation Version = 1.1003 ] does not support

    [ Plugin Name = QuickTime Plug-In Avid Technology, Inc. Version = 1.2 ] does not support

    Any thoughts…….

    The problem isn’t with your Avid, but with that SD card. Use the EX3 to re-format the card and try using it again. Just test it first though with a bit of unimportant media then go through your work routine again. If the directory structure is good then your Avid should read it no problem. If not then there’s something wrong with that card or the way it connects to that particular SD adapter. Make sure everything is seated properly. If you still have trouble then throw the card away and get another one.

    You didn’t lose anything important this time but for trouble free recording I always recommend the Sony SxS Pro or the lesser priced SxS-1 cards. You don’t need a catastrophic media failure because you skimped on cheap cards.
