I just shot a two camera event on HVX 200 one camera recorded on P2 cards and the second on Firestore both cameras where set on 720 24p and the firestore was set on dvc pro HD P2 record. I am getting ready to do a multicam edit and i have discovered that the firestore recorded at 59.94 and the p2 at 23.98 and now i am getting a frame rate prompt from final cut when i try to set up a multicam edit How do i covert the 59.94 to 23.98?

Use the Panasonic Frame Rate Converter under the tools menu to remove the redundant frames from the 60p footage. Make sure that footage is in the root level of your project and not in a bin.

OK. You have to put your clips that need converting at the root level of your project (meaning take them out of any bins, or open a new project and drag that media in there). Then select those clips in the browser then choose the DVCPro HD FRC.

I find that creating a new project and doing them in that project to be easiest. It tends not to work when the project sizes bloat…which is odd.

    Trick Walter told me.

Its probably creating a huge RAM cache to do this. With a large project, it probably chokes.

    Just a guess.
