2 camera shoot 2 different Frame rates need conversion ideas

If the footage is MXF, then when you reimport, make sure to to open the log and transfer preferences and choose the option to remove redundant/duplicate frames.

just checked and it was already in that mode so the footage i already imported has that function applied, should i try re importing the footage?

Are you absolutely sure that camera was in 24p mode?

I was assured by the dp it was 24p not 24pn which is what i asked for.

Then it should be working. If it’s not working, it makes me think that the footage was NOT shot in 24p no matter what the dp says. If you go through the footage frame by frame do you see duplicate frames or do you see continuous frames?

the footage moves every two frames and then three frames and back to two and so on

Yeah, that’s 24p. Try reimporting ONE of the clips and see if you can get FCP to remove the pulldown.
