I work for a small post company that until recently has been using FCP to playout our graded master to tape.

We playout a 1080p/25 timeline rendered out of DaVinci Resolve 8.1 on Mac, and then use a Macbook Pro connected to a Thunderbolt Pegasus Drive to hold our media and connect that to a Ultrastudio to send signal and control the tape deck.

With the changeover to Avid we have noticed a 1f inaccuracy on the tape. This is a problem as it needs to sync to audio and meet TC regulations for broadcasting.

Our timeline starts at 9:58:30:00 and when setting this as the In Point in the Digital Cut tool the vision starts at 9:58:29:24 and the entire episode is out this 1f. If we set the In Point to 9:58:30:01 it ends up correct 95% of the time, but still not 100% consistent. We have lost over a day to this problem so far

We have explored the Deck Preferences setting (seems to only work for Firewire playouts?) but unfortunately our knowledge of Avid is very limited and we have been able to find noone to explain or help us.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated
