Shot in 1920X1080 AVC Intra 100 P2 23.98 delivering to 720X480 WMV letter boxed.
Will be using Episode to generate the final WMV file.
Planning to edit everything in 1920 Pro Res and down-convert at the end. Is this the way to achieve the best quality or would it be better to edit in an SD format from the beginning.
Worried about getting fuzzy text when down converting.
Lots of graphic and text in this project.
    thank you

Edit in 1920×1080 and then downconvert at the end. Always best to have as Native a final file as you can so you can convert easily and cleanly to whatever format you need in the end.

But… it will cost you in storage space and render times. If you can afford it, stay in HD as Final Cut’s resizing algorithms aren’t great and make the HD image softer than if you converted your HD to SD through compressor or After Effects at the end.

    Shot HD.
    Edit HD.
    Output “Current Settings”
    Compress to what you need.

Thanks guys. Yes I was hoping to stay in HD to future proof everything. Just did a test using Episode and things look good.
