1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720

You could scale it up, but it would look better if you edited in 1280×720 and scaled the 1080 down.

If you are not delivering in HD, then there shouldn’t be any issue. It’ll all get scaled down for your DVD anyway.

When you drop both on the timeline, do you see any difference?

Otherwise, scaling down is always better than scaling up.

Hi…

I did a test scaling up and down. Scaling down definitely looked better. I will say this, when scaling up, the image did loose sharpness, but not as much as I expected. I love my 7D and 60D for that reason… you have more freedom with composition and movement when you can resize.

Scale all down to 720 for sure. This is still HD anyway so should be good quality, just not quite 1080. It won’t be particularly noticable difference unless using a large screen in my experience.

Well, I’ve made some mistake by recording 1280×720, while most of the project was recorded on 1920×1080.

What does upscaling to 1920 here mean; will it add extra pixels??

I can show the film on al large screen with 2000 resolution or (with a panasonic 7000) with a 1400 resolution.

Will the difference in quality be evident, when showing on a 2000 res screen? ??

Would showing it on a 6 by 4 meters screen with a 2000 res projector still yield good quality with 1280?
