    Hello there,

I’ve been working for years now in 16bpc mode in AE 6.5, with dedicated video hardware like digital voodoo or blackmagic boards.

Recently, I had to compile 16bpc material in Shake on a machine with no hardware, so I did choose Apple YUV 10bits QT codec for output format.
On the same machine I opened those QT files into AE, and it didn’t recognize files as ‘trillions of colors’ but only ‘millions’…

I’ve rechecked my shake project, and everything is assumed ok.

Where is the problem ? Do I need to tweak manually AE prefs file, as I did once for a video board codec, to help it recognize Apple YUV 10bits as a supported trillions ? Or is it some Shake bug considering YUV 10bits format as an 8bit one ?

    Thanx for any help

    Dave
