16:9 to 14:9 conversion
Hello,
I have a project that I am working on right now that needs to converted from 16:9 to 14:9 letterboxed. I have the anamorphic 16:9 image.
The show was originally broadcast 16:9 letterboxed, and has now been sold overseas. The technical specs that I have says that a 16:9 letterbox is unacceptable. The specs say they require a 14:9 letterbox that does not take up over the first 12 lines, and with no anamorphic distortion.
What would be the best way to achieve this? I put a 14:9 squeeze on the anamorphic image and some ‘anamorphic distortion’ is apparent… as it the image looks slightly stretch.
I know I could put a slight zoom in on the footage, but I need it to me exact, and not take up over the first 12 lines. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks.
