I am working with some web designers that I’m not sure fully understand video file sizes. These videos are typically about 5 minutes long and coming out in the typical 4:3 format. They want them 16:9 full sized, with NO black bars on the bottom and top. I’ve read some online message boards talking about this, sort of, but haven’t been able to find a proper process. Also, just to throw this out there…The head designer I’ve been speaking with through e-mail said 32 MB’s for a 5 minute video is “insane”? That’s an insane comment to me, right? I mean, most of my personal videos can range from 100 megs to a Gig. I’m having trouble explaining to him, the more codecs and compression that’s put on these videos, the more quality we are going to be sacrificing. Any help would be well appreciated, thanks,

If he knows so much maybe he could go to the Apple Trailer website and tell them they are insane.
The average 2.5 min trailer is 100MB in 720P and about 160MB in 1080P.
My own H.264 1080I 4 min uploads to You Tube were about 300MB and I would not call the quality great even at that size.
A 5 min 32MB 1080 or even 720 file would probably not be worth watching.
