1608 items to index – AGAIN
Argh. the dreaded indexing! So I guess when the project crashes – sometimes…or freezes and then has to be closed from Task Manager – then when re-opened – everything has to be re-indexed? But then again, sometimes it doesn’t crash and it still has to re-index…and indexing 1608 items (there are not that many items in the project for sure) takes a good 30 minutes – so I sit here apologizing to the client, promising they won’t get billed for the time … and fuming. What is wrong with CS4? What is this thing called indexing?

It’s the pain of working with a long GOP format. I undestand your frustration. You might want to give Adobe Tech Support a call to see if there is an official response as to why the re-indexing is occurring.

The footage is all DVCProHD – using Raylight to decode should have mentioned that…
