June 16, 2008 at 11:07 pmI heard that SanDisk has always made the cards for Sony. Take this as just a rumor. I don’t know for sure. Personally, I’m not going to buy any more cards until the 32’s come out. Might drop the price of the 16’s when they do.

June 17, 2008 at 12:09 amI imagine they are completely identical in terms of performance and reliability. Hopefully a price war will break out though with only Sony and Sandisk so far this may take a while.

[Don Greening] “I heard that SanDisk has always made the cards for Sony.”
At the Sony Seminar at HD Expo here in Chicago about 10 days ago, the presenters let the cat out of the bag, and I don’t think that they were kidding.

June 17, 2008 at 11:35 amThe funny thing is why has it taken Sandisk so long to make the cards under their own name if they’re already making them for Sony.

I’m sure it’s all in the corporate partnership agreements, whether based on time or aggregate quantity sold, or some other formula.
