  1400 Deck Recording

  Just got this Panasonic AJHD1400, and having problems getting the audio into it from FCP 4.5 sequence.

  I’m connected via Firewire. I have two projects to output; a 1080i sequence and a 720p sequence that I’m trying to record on the 1400. Video plays out fine. But the sound “dropped frames” every 6 seconds…no matter which sequence.

  I’ve tried a couple different soundtracks to rule out corrupted files. Everything is rendered. The deck is set to 1394 video and audio input.

  I have sifted through the manual to see if there is some menu setting that needs changing…but don’t see anything relevant. It’s just weird….It came through firewire just fine INTO FCP…but doesn’t want to go back the other way.

  Could have to do with FCP…but when I go to video/audio settings, and select AUDIO PLAYBACK to be “Built-in Audio” it plays back fine…or with the deck off “(Missing) DVCPRO HD Out” it plays back fine.

  Any ideas out there would be greatly appreciated.

  Dual 2 GHz Power PC G5
  5GB DDR SDRAM
