April 9, 2008 at 3:50 pmI don’t see support for XDCAM or XDCAM EX? I was under the illusion that this was to be included in 12.5.

April 9, 2008 at 4:23 pmno HDV on any laptops, yet, but it appears that media100 converts the HDV signal to uncompressed or compressed codecs, depending on the speed of your machine. While it seems that native HDV ingestion is not possible, its actually kind of cool that it can convert the HDv signal to a number of codecs in real time, saving you from having to buy a HDV/HDMI to SDI converter.
here is a summarized breakdown of the new features from the installer:

April 10, 2008 at 1:28 amThis landed in my inbox:
“Media 100 Version 12.5 Now Available, New HDV Support”……I rushed to these boards, to tell you all I was falling in love…
..then I read Bobby’s “no HDV on any laptops, yet,”, and decided it best not to rush into romance straight away…
😉
Not that I’ve got any hardware to run it on yet, of course, but getting there.
Am now Sub-Editor at GameSpot UK, as of this week, which is kinda cool. But it’s just a 3 month contract at the moment.

April 10, 2008 at 3:18 amHi,
Sit tight on the laptop support. We need to do some additional work because the slower Intel Macs (Intel Laptops, older Intel generation Mac Pro’s) are not fast enough.

Are any of the intel laptops fast enough? I’m running on a MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz. Just curious.

April 11, 2008 at 10:44 amDavid C, note above a post enquiring about XDCAM Ex 1 support, this really is more important than HDV considering the worldwide demand for this camerea and codec. Plese, please, when you manage it, will it work with the pre intel Mac G5 and your HDx board.
