1080Psf playout query
Am currently working on 2008 MacPro 8core setup that has a Kona3 card connected to a Sony HDW-M2000P deck. All footage has been filmed @ 1080PsF25 on HDCAM.
There was a bit of confusion when capturing as the Kona card didn’t seem to support 1080Psf 25, after further investigation we discovered that 1080Psf 25 is actually 1080 50i and that Kona has mislabeled the FCP easy setup for 1080 50i as 1080i.
So all the footage has been captured @ 1080i and then the field setting changed to NONE (as recommended by AJA) to display Psf correctly, when reviewing on our 1080p SDI monitor everything looks great, the edit is going to plan but I just tried a test playout and am having a few issues.I would like to know if anyone has successfully played out 1080PsF25 to a HDW-M2000P via a Kona3 or a KonaLHe, and if so what settings did you set in ‘Edit to tape’ setting within FCP for the playout, and/or did you change any settings in the Kona control panel?

Not sure why you would make the field dominance none? 1080 25psf is a progressive image wrapped in a 50i frame. When I work in this format from HDCam, I leave everything as 50i and have no trouble playing out to HDCam.
That said, there are settings on the HDCam decks for 50i and 25psf. I presume the Kona is output 50i, so try that setting on the deck first. Are you getting funny green colored blocks on playback but EE looks OK? If so it is the psf versus i setting on the deck.

I believe that to be incorrect Taz, the Kona setting for this workflow is AJA KONA 1080 25i with the deck set to record PsF.
