    Hi,
I’m trying to output a 1080psf 23.98 DVCPro HD timeline to a beta machine using the Edit to Tape function. The problem is that when I hit the assemble edit button, I get a warning saying “Incompatible compression settings.” So, I went into Device Settings on the Edit to Tape window and tried looking for a AJA Kona2 1080psf 23.98 DVCPro HD Capture/Input setting and couldn’t find one. Is there a workaround for getting the assemble edit to work? What should my Device Settings be?
    Thanks,
    Brent

You’re trying to dump out a HD timeline to your Beta machine ? You need to set up the downconversion so that it is outputting an NTSC signal instead.

you need to grab the sequence icon from the browser and drop it onto the assemble overlay that hovers up on the ett window.

might be worth consulting the manual ’cause just pressing the button doesn’t work (this problem comes up often on all forums).

try the cow fcp forum – the issue is software not the kona

Try outputting from the Viewer, not the Canvas.

Drag the master sequence into the Viewer and go through the usual output dialog. Assuming you have all the settings correct in the panels as the others here have suggested you shouldn’t get that error message.

    Thanks guys,
It only seems to work when I drag it from the Browser. The Viewer gives me the same error.
    Thanks again,
    Brent
