1080p24p on FCP 5.0.1 DVCPROHD
I have shot material on a Canon 550D (T2i) at 1080p 24p.
I’ve then transcoded the h.264 files to DVCPRO HD as I have FCP 5.0.1 and it does not support ProRes.
I’ve set up my sequence settings for DVCPRO HD and although the clips play full frame (33%) in the clip monitor, when I put them on the timeline, it shows them at 27% in the canvas viewer. Once I set them to fill the canvas viewer, they are unrenedered on the timeline and I can’t put them back to 27%.
I also don’t think it’s giving me the option to reset the frame rate in the settings to 24p.
It’s becoming impossible to edit now as my computer is struggling to play so many unrendered clips.
Anyone know what issues I’m up against here and whether I’d have more success in FCP 6 or 7?
Also, this is really just for DVD and internet (why did I shoot 24p?!) So how can I convert entire project to 25p?

Your problem is likely that the sequence settings don’t match the clip’s properties you’re putting in it… i.e, they have to match, or rendering ensues.
