  1080p out to 720p with DeckLink HD Extreme

  Hi,

  I’m currently on-lining a series in which the producers have shot in 1080p. Most of the footage is XDCam with some DSLR broll, again all at 1080p.

  We’re editing in FCP. I need to get the final output out to DVCPro Tape. Our current method is to render out the final QT, take that to a very pricey but good post house here in Toronto, and they take that XDCAM HD422 1080p30 (50mb/s) Quicktime and put it to DVCPro tape for final delivery. I’m not entirely sure of how they do the convert.

  My question is: will the DeckLink HD Extreme 3D do a cross convert from 1080p out to 720p? What is the quality I can expect to see? Final product is currently broadcasting in the U.S., I just need to ensure that the quality of the convert is top notch. The deck I’ll be outputting to is the Panasonic AJ-SD93P

  I’ve tried to find the answer but haven’t really come up with anything that is helpful or that i can understand!

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
