ok, so I think your speed change idea did work. When I make each of the wav files 99.9% in speed, they fit perfectly. Not sure exactly what that means…”Not to be bitter or anything, but that’s essentially what I suggested you do earlier today, and I explained why:
[Sean ONeil] “When convering film to video, it is generally slowed down by .1% to match the timing signals of televisions. So 24fps becomes 23.976fps (FCP rounds the number to 23.98)….Cinema Tools can conform your quicktimes from 23.98 to 24 and vice-versa.”

August 6, 2007 at 11:36 pmDo NOT do 99.92%. Do 99.9% percent like you have been. That is the right percentage.
When CharlieX did the math, he forgot that 23.98 really means 23.976.
If you’d like to take the math out of the equation, just use Cinema Tools to convert a quicktime from 24 to 23.98. It adjusts the audio speed perfectly.

August 6, 2007 at 11:41 pmSorry, but I see one more thing of importance. The duration of the wav files in Quicktime pro seem to be the correct duration. What is it that FCP could be doing? I think I need to call Apple.

August 6, 2007 at 11:50 pm[Tippytink] “need to tell them they are working in the wrong speed.”
That’s what it sounds like to me.

I don’t think they’ll have an answer for you. You have your answer right here.

August 6, 2007 at 11:54 pmThat will get you no [Tippytink] “I think I need to call Apple.”
If they’re any help at all, they’ll tell you exactly what we just did.
Look at your source video in Quicktime and hit Apple-I. What framerate does it say?

August 7, 2007 at 12:04 amI didn’t mean at ALL that I would get a better response for Apple!! Really the sound designer is asking us to call Apple and says it is not on his end. So I have hit a wall.
Just FYI – when I play the audio in QT is is the correct length and shows up as the correct length in a 29.97 timeline as well. Of course my footage does not since it is 24p.
Also wav files in QT pro’s info does not give the frame rate without video attached… right? I do not see that info.

August 7, 2007 at 12:07 amIf you have to SLOW DOWN their mix to fit your picture, that suggest YOU’RE working at 23.98 and they’re working at 24.0
You need to triple check all your settings. Make a new 24.0 sequence and copy/paste everything into it.
