hey guys, I posted a similar message on the After Effects board. I am wondering what would be the proper settings to achieve the highest quality 1920×1080 HD clip to post up to You Tube. I see some on there that look so crisp, so clear, so awesome!

I am just not sure which settings I need to set to achieve the same quality?

I use Premiere Pro CS5. Do I export as an avi? A wmv? Quicktime? And what settings to I tweak?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have googled, youtubed, etc but each one is so different from the other, so I figured I would turn to the experts who use these programs! 🙂 Thank you in advance!

In Premiere under H.264 you will find Youtube preset and the work perfectly.
    Just change the resolution.

I have a follow-up question to that. Our office right now is Vegas and Final Cut, but we’re thinking of giving Premiere CS5 a try.

The 1080p h264 youtube preset you mentioned, does anyone know if that preset would also work with Vimeo and play from a Playstation 3? Also what actual extension does it get named? Thanks in advance!

There are vimeo export settings 😉
But yes it will upload and playback.

    Ps3 compatible – yes.

    Mp4 extension.

I’ve always used these presets and my video always happened to be 720p.

Now I just went to edit some 1080p to export to youtube and just finally noticed that the YoutubeHD preset is default to 720p.

I think I’m an idiot but how the heck do you change the resolution? Im on the video tab and I’m typing in 1920 on the first box, but before I can get to the 2nd box it gives me the error “invalid reso blah blah”

No matter which box I start with, or if I uncheck the linked aspect ratio box, it won’t ever let me get to 2nd box to change the other number.

HOW DO I CHANGE IT TO 1080p? you’d think it’d be easy but what the?
