1080i 24p
Does anyone have advice on the best compression to use for 1080i 24p? In the raw format right from the camera FCP 7 plays the footage choppy. When I convert it Apple TV.m4v, it plays smooth in the canvas and viewer. I want to settle on a format before I get to far into the project I am working on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated…..

ProRes for editing. Apple TV m4v is not an editing format.
What is the source footage? From what camera?

I am not certain what the source footage is, but it was captured on a Sony HDR Z5.

HDV then. ON an SD or Compact Flash card, right? Not sure how to bring that in…try Log and Transfer? It needs to be ProRes, or HDV…not AppleTV.
