10.04 released…

I opened up some projects with 10.0.4 that still had the old 9.2 BMagic drivers and they were stuttering and dropping frames. Downloaded the new BM driver and they play back full quality 1080 p30 proves 422 without dropping frames. They drop once they get to a rendered section in full rez. But in “better performance” mode they don’t drop frames usually now for easily rendered material. Better performance mode seems to be full rez for the most part anyway.
I’ll test Matrox when I get a chance, but their beta drivers were pretty abysmal before. I don’t BlackMagic are calling their beta. Just 9.2.1. Works for FCP X, DaVinci, FCP 7, Adobe. Very nice.

Interesting to think about what under the hood change caused this.
Could it be related to fixes in Broadcast Monitoring?
Could they be implementing improvements that some of the plugin developers asked for? -
Yup. Upside down seemes like the new way. Sure Red Giant will fix this shortly, but an interesting new feature none the less…
