[Andrew Richards] “Technically, an .m4v is the same bitwise as an .mp4”

Yes but there were no settings controls on the iOS presets. Many people want to deliver .mp4 and need complete controls (or at least as much meager control that Compressor offers).

There’s still no High Profile or CABAC entropy support last I looked.
Nor any real control over the GOP. How about some 4:2:2 color space with H.264.
    H.264 Transport Streams?
Oh and improve the H.264 codec in general so it handles better at lower bit rates.

[Jeremy Garchow] “Could you always keyframe shape masks?”

I’m still on 10.0.3, so if you want me to look for anything that used to be, I can.

[Jeremy Garchow] “Unless I’m susceptible as well, things are much more snappy. Much much better.

Could you always keyframe shape masks?”

Not sure, sadly still can’t keyframe CCs.

However everything else is significantly improved for me, adding filters and titles is quicker and I’ve now put together a 600 clip 5 hour project and there are no beachballs when editing.

This update may not have any big new features but it is a very significant fix. Now let’s see if stability is improved

    [Craig Seeman] “H.264 Transport Streams?”

Is there such a thing? I know you can wrap h.264 in an MPEG-2 TS (and Compressor does this for HTTP Live Streaming), but I never heard of an MPEG-4 TS.

    Best,

    !!!

Try doing that in 7. Don’t sequences max at 4 hours in legacy FCP?

I’ve got 48 hours to deliver the film we’ve been working on and then I can update.

Can’t wait for the performance improvement.
All of this recent work, while not completely consoling me, has gotten me more and more used to some of the unconventional conventions that I found inconvenient.

This could make me a believer.
And don’t think for a minute that the X team doesn’t see itself in competition with the PP team now.

It’s how I always get the best out of my people and myself – competition.

New feature… organize roles on easily manageable tracks! Wait…

Yes I meant H.264 in MPEG TS.

[Andrew Richards] “Compressor does this for HTTP Live Streaming”

Compressor shows as .mp4 though for me.
Episode, for example, is .ts for H.264 MPEG-TS.
And I can change the color space to 4:2:2 as Comcast sometimes asks for in spot delivery.

Has anyone noticed that images in magic bullet looks are now mirrored? (but luckily only in the preview)

Yes, it does it on mine too, hopefully an MB update will fix it
